As the count down begins for the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards KwaZulu-Natal (MAMA), an all-star line-up of SA’s hottest urban artists and DJs is to headline MTV Base’s first Road to MAMA party. The pan-African party tour, criss-crossing the continent in the build up to the MAMA awards in July, kicks off in Durban before heading off to Lagos and Nairobi.The MTV Africa Music Awards KwaZulu-Natal 2015, brought to you by KwaZulu-Natal Province in association with Absolut an in partnership with The City of Durban, returns to the Durban International Convention Centre(ICC), KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa on Saturday 18 July 2015 (to see the nominations for the MAMA please click here).
Road to MAMA Durban, an off-the-hook club night and celebration of Africa’s musical evolution, will take place on Saturday 27 June at 4 7th Avenue Lounge, 47 Intersite Avenue, Umgeni Business Park, Springfield, Durban. Headlining the gig are Best New Act: Transformed Today by Absolut nominee and ‘Tsiki Tsiki’ star Duncan, Song of the Year nominees and Best Female nominee Busiswa, with Durban rapper Aewon Wolf and alternative hip hop outfit WTF rounding out the line-up. Hitting the decks will be Song of the Year nominee DJ Fisherman plus Benny Maverick, Junior De Rocka, DJ Feel and DJ Lab.
